Project Description

My clients were ready to part with the wood-burning stove and oversized hearth that dominated the kitchen in their mid-1960s rancher. While the stove was on trend at the time the home was built, it made the rest of the kitchen feel cramped and limited. They envisioned a space that would seamlessly support both indoor and outdoor cooking as well as effortless entertaining.

A stunning quartzite slab became the inspiration for the kitchen’s color palette. From there, every detail was designed with functionality at its core: a well-planned work triangle for cooking and food prep, a dedicated desk workstation, and custom cabinetry to house their extensive collection of glassware and barware—essential for their daily entertaining.

The result is a kitchen that perfectly reflects their active, social lifestyle: open, efficient, and inviting.
