Project Description

San Francisco built a new ballpark for the Giants in South Beach in 2000 and the area quickly transitioned from abandoned warehouses into a vibrant urban destination. Developers built new condominiums quickly to take advantage of the popular neighborhood amenities.

While my clients loved the nicely scaled rooms and overall layout of their condo from this era, the existing kitchen was cut off from the main living area and felt like a poorly designed afterthought.  It was cramped, featuring builder-grade cabinets and a dysfunctional layout. Appliances were set into corners and up against each other, making it hard to prep meals.

The new design fits how my clients use their home. It features abundant storage, including custom built-ins designed to elegantly showcase an extensive wine collection. Cabinetry and appliances are realigned to make meal prep a breeze. Tile from Wow Design provides sophisticated color and a distinctive deco relief texture. This one-of-a-kind backsplash makes the space truly unique.

I selected custom light fixtures that lent a modern edge to the design and worked within the limitations of existing concrete walls, ceilings and soffits of the building.
